strategies
Selin Fireheart Strategy
- The tank runs in and establishes aggro, during the fight Selin Fireheart will run to the crystals in the room, draining them. The crystal drain will grant Selin Fireheart more damage and mana. The group must switch to the crystal being drained and break it.
- After the crystal drain Selin Fireheart will cast a Fel Explosion AoE until Selin Fireheart is out of mana. Once this happens Selin will run to the next crystal.
- Throughout the fight drain life will be channeled on a random party member, this can be interrupted or dispelled off.
- On heroic Selin Fireheart will also drain mana, this can also be interrupted or dispelled. Overall it is a very easy and fast fight.
Vexallus Strategy
- The tank runs in tanking on the stairs.
- Every 15% loss in health Vexallus will summon adds, these need to be taken out very fast or they will AoE the whole party for 2,000 damage each. The player who kills the adds will get a debuff increasing damage done by 50% and causing 300 damage a second to the player. This can keep stacking, so if you can alternate kills you should. Players can also remove the debuff with ice block, cloak of shadows, etc..
- Around 20% health Vexallus will cast Overload until dead. This does 1,000 AoE damage to the whole party and stacks a debuff which increases damage taken by arcane spells by 10%, stacking 15 times.
- The rest of the fight is a tank and spank.
Priestess Delrissa Strategy
- Priestess Delrissa comes with 4 adds, randomly chosen. There really is not an aggro table, so most of the time they will be running wild. Your group should do anything possible to slow them down.
- Apoko is a Shaman. Ellrys Duskhallow is a Warlock. Eramas Brightblaze is similar to a warrior. Garaxxas is a Hunter. Kagani Nightstrike is a rogue, very dangerous. Warlord Salaris is an Arms Warrior with mortal strike. Yazzai is a Mage, also very dangerous. Zelfan is a crazy engineer, throwing rockets and grenades.
- These adds should be crowd controlled, Priestess Delrissa is typically who you want to kill first because of dispels and heals.
- After the Priestess Delrissa is dead, pick the next CC'd target and burn them down.
Kael'thas Sunstrider Abilities
- Fireball does 2,000 - 3,000 damage on normal mode and 6,000 on heroic. This can be spell reflected or interrupted.
- Flamestrike is an AoE, you will see it on the floor. Try moving out of it, especially melee. It will do 5,000 damage on normal and 9,000 damage on heroic after 5 seconds.
- Gravity Lapse occurs when Kael'thas is at 50%. Your party is thrown up into the air and has to swim around avoiding the big purple orbs. Everyone in the party will be damaged for 300 dps, this phase lasts 30 seconds. You can cast spells while in the air, so it is definitely a good thing to keep up the dps after you are safely away from the orbs. Eventually you will fall to the floor again and can start dpsing again.
- Pyroblast (heroic only) will occur 60 seconds into the fight, it will 1 hit your tank. You have to either drop Kael'thas below 50% or break down the Shock Barrier surrounding him to interrupt it.
- Shock Barrier is cast right before Pyroblast, absorbing 10,000 damage and making him immune to interrupts. If you know you will not get him to 50% before a minute is up then save your trinkets and big cooldowns for this moment.
- Summon Phoenix, these phoenix's and their eggs need to be killed as soon as possible. Usually you will have a ranged dps on phoenix duty the whole time, they need to be under control or will do some serious hellfire aoe damage dealing 2,000 dps.
Kael'thas Sunstrider Strategy
- Now that you know all of his abilities the fight is easy. Silence him every time he tries casting fireball or spell reflect them if you can. Watch out for Flamestrike, which is all about paying attention to your surroundings.
- Your assigned ranged dps should be watching out for the Phoenix and their eggs.
- After 60 seconds on heroic, if Kael'thas is not under 50% health he will cast Shock Barrier and start casting Pyroblast. Burn down his shield by doing 10,000 damage, then silence him or your tank will die.
- At 50% health Kael'thas will your party is thrown up into the air and has to swim around avoiding the big purple orbs. Everyone in the party will be damaged for 300 dps, this phase lasts 30 seconds. You can cast spells while in the air, so it is definitely a good thing to keep up the dps after you are safely away from the orbs. Eventually you will fall to the floor again and can start dpsing again.
- Finish the fight and get your achievement.
