Magtheridon's Lair Achievement

  • Objective: Defeat Magtheridon in Magtheridon's Lair.

Magtheridon Phase 1



  1. Your raid enters the room with Magtheridon and his channelers.
  2. The channelers will not aggro until they are hit so it is safe to setup your raid and mark them.
  3. Once engaged you have two minutes before Magtheridon starts attacking.
  4. Your raid needs to allocate a tank and healer for each of the five channelers, the first to die and second can be tanked by the same person. The group should kill in a clockwise fashion, making it faster and more efficient to move.
  5. Mind Numbing, Curse of Tongues, Slow, etc should be up on the channelers to slow their casting.
  6. The channelers need to be interrupted as much as possible, especially during Dark Mending. Dark Mending will heal a channeler for 32,000. When one channeler dies the remaining all gain a 30% increase in damage and casting speed which stacks, so dps fast.
  7. The channelers will Summon Abyssal's during this phase,they can be banished, stunned, or trapped. They will do 2,600 – 3,400 damage to players within 10 yards of where they land. Once one channeler is down the free tank should try and pick up an Abyssal or two.


Magtheridon Phase 2



  1. Once Magtheridon is free your main tank should pick him up and face him away from the party, to avoid raid members being hit by his cleave.
  2. The most important thing about this fight is assigning raid members to click on the Manticron Cubes where the channelers were. The cubes need to be clicked at the same time by the assigned raid members to stop Magtheridon's Blast Nova, the clickers start taking damage fast while clicking so healers need to be assigned to them or watching over them. It is recommended to have a back up clicker at all times!
  3. Conflagration is an AoE cast on the floor, dealing 6,000 damage over 8 seconds, the raid members need to move out of this.
  4. Quake is cast 40 seconds into the fight and 50 seconds from then on. Quake does a knockback over 7 seconds, if that's not annoying enough it silences too. Healers should keep HoTs on the tank to assure they live through quake.


Magtheridon Phase 3



  1. Phase 3 occurs when Magtheridon is at 30% health, the raid should time this around Blast Wave.
  2. The roof will start crashing down, damaging the entire raid for 5,250 – 6,750 damage and stunning everyone for 2 seconds. Now just watch out for Collapse, you will notice it before and need to move or it will instantly kill everything in an 8 yard radius.
