Title Reward: The Insane
Raise your reputation with the areas listed below.
- Honored with Bloodsail Buccaneers
- Exalted with Everlook
- Exalted with Ratchet
- Exalted with Ravenholdt
- Exalted with Booty Bay
- Exalted with Gadgetzan
- Exalted with Darkmoon Faire
- Exalted with Shen'dralar
The title reward is perfect for this achievement! The hardest part here is going to be gaining Exalted reputation with the Steemwheedle Cartel (Everlook, Ratchet, Booty Bay and Gadgetzan) while maintaining your Honored status with the Bloodsails.
Since you only need to become Honored with the
Bloodsails, I would start with them. No matter what you do you will start out Hated with the Bloodsails. Killing the Bruisers at Booty Bay will give you rep with them, but will also decrease your rep with the Steemwheedle Cartel. Booty Bay Bruisers and Elites will reward you with 25 rep, and Blackwater Deckhands will give 5 rep. Take caution while farming these guys as it's easy to become overwhelmed by Bruisers spawning. Be aware they use nets a lot! They also use guns that can throw you back. Because of the quickness of their shots, this can cause you to constantly be thrown back and unable to attack. This can be frustrating, but try to stay patient! Once you gain Friendly with the Bloodsails, you can complete the quest to get the
Avast, Ye Admiral achievement!
Next, I would move on to the
Goblin city rep. Remember that you need to keep your Bloodsail rep, so do not turn in cloth to the traitor. While completing quests in each city will give you rep, it's possible to also gain rep with all the cities at the same time. This is much more time efficient. Run Dire Maul North and collect the
Gordok Shackle Key from trash mobs. Using the key to set Knot Thimblejack free will give you 350 reputation with all the cities. This goblin also has a quest
The Gordok Ogre Suit which asks you to bring him 4
Bolts of Runecloth, 8
Rugged Leathers, 2
Rune Threads, and a
Ogre Tannin. The Tannin is inside a basket within Dire Maul North and only one person in the group can pick it up. It's located on the balcony near Guard Slip'kik. If you do plan on completing this quest, be sure you have the mats on hand and turn them in before you set him free. You'll get 250 reptuation the first time you complete and 75 thereafter. Another way to gain reputation is to simply kill pirates. The best place to farm them is in Tanaris. If you are looking for the most time efficient method, I would go with killing the pirates in Tanaris.
Gaining Exalted status with the
Darkmoon Faire is also pretty time consuming. You can complete the turn-in quests until part way through Friendly. All of these can be found at the fair and are easy enough if you are a higher level. After this, the best and most time efficient way to gain rep would be through turning in Darkmoon Faire decks. Scribes can create many low-level decks and in particular the
Rogues Deck. This deck only requires you to gather the Ace, Two and Three. Another plus to this is that the deck summons a Darkmoon Fortune Teller that you can turn the deck in to. Since the Faire only comes once a month, this definitely helps! This only rewards you with 25 reputation, so you'll need roughly 1400 decks to gain Exalted from Friendly. The Burning Crusade and Northrend decks reward 350 reputation, but can be more costly.
The Shen'dralar are the Night Elves inside Dire Maul. The only way to gain reputation with them is to repeatedly turn in the following Librams:
- Libram of Focus
- Libram of Protection
- Libram of Rapidity
You can also turn in class specific quest books:
- Codex of Defense
- Frost Shock and You
- Garona: A Study on Stealth and Treachery
- Harnessing Shadows
- Holy Bologna: What the Light Won't Tell You
- The Arcanist's Cookbook
- The Emerald Dream
- The Greatest Race of Hunters
- The Light and How to Swing It
- Foror's Compendium of Dragon Slaying
Each turn in will reward you with 500 reputation. You'll need approximately 80 librams to become Exalted. Remember that each Libram requires you to bring shards, diamonds and/or other mats, so have them with you. Since you need to turn them in at Dire Maul and can only carry one Libram at a time in your bags, it's a good idea to mail all the Librams to your toon then have an engineer come with you and create a mailbox for you.
The Ravenholdt are located in the Alterac Mountains. These guys are a Rogue faction and only offer quests to Rogues. You begin at 0/3k Neutral with them, however, if you kill
any Ravenholdt NPCs before raising your rep at all, you will become Unfriendly and
unable to ever raise your rep. Killing Syndicate NPCs will give you 5 rep. You can also complete the
Syndicate Emblems quest till you hit Friendly if you are a Rogue. You'll need around 10
Syndicate Emblems that can be pickpocketed from the Syndicate mobs. If you are not a Rogue you can also turn in 5
Heavy Junkboxes. It's a better option to kill the Syndicates if you are not a Rogue. I can confirm that it is possible to kill the Syndicate mobs till at least halfway through Honored. While it can be tedious to kill these guys, there is a good amount of them in Alterac Mountains around (39, 18), at Strahnbrad (61, 43) and a few camps in between those two spots.
